BROUGHTON, JAMES R., 40, of Valley Station, KY, born September 18, 1973, passed away on January 5, 2014 at Southwest Hospital. He was preceded in death by mother, Doris Brawand. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kristi Broughton; his two sons Nicholas and Andrew; father James Broughton and sister Danielle Phelps. James was a loving husband, wonderful dad and a good friend to everyone. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and a devoted coach for seven years at Valley Youth. He was a jokester who loved making people smile and laugh, he never knew a stranger and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. A funeral service will be held at Ratterman's Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run Road, 40216. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. with services Saturday at 11a.m. and burial at Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
