Margaret M. Brandenburg, 89, of Foxville passed away Wednesday January 15, at her home with her loving caregivers nephew John Curtis Kuhn and wife Shirley by her side. Born December 21, 1924 at Pleasant Valley near Smithsburg, She was the daughter of late Charles E. and Mary E. Willard Swope. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray S. Brandenburg Jr. on June 11, 2010, they were married June 20, 1942 She was of the Methodist faith and attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Smithsburg. She was a homemaker, had worked beside her husband on their sawmill, was a farmer and a gardener. She loved the outdoors and the mountains. She is survived by her brother Roger (Barney) Swope of Smithsburg, a daughter in law Phyllis Brandenburg of Foxville, a grandson Jason Roth of Hagerstown, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by a son Steven T. Brandenburg on June 2, 2000, a sister Hazel Kuhn and a brother Harry Swope. Services will be held Monday January 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg with the Rev. John W. Schildt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery
