He was born September 23, 1890, in Deer Isle, the son of Charles Edward and Elizabeth (Marshall) Barbour. He attended Deer Isle schools and served in the Army in World War I.
The former Rose Haskell of Deer Isle, is his wife and survives him.
A yachtsman from the age of 14, he was a member of Rodney-Stinson Post, American Legion of Stonington and the First Congregational Church of Deer Isle.
Burial will be in Mount Adams Cemetery.
