Colleen M. Bower of Salem, Passed away Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 2:15 am in Salem Crossing at the age of 86. Born October 26, 1927 in Salem, Indiana and had been a life long resident of Washington County. She was the daughter of the Late Roy and Lillie (Applegate) Hattabaugh. She was an employee of the old Washington County Memorial Hospital for 18 years and a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as a photographer for the newborns, which gave her much pleasure. She attended the West Side Baptist Church in Salem.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Dr. Greg Philpott (Becky) of Greenville and Mayor David Bower (Jamie) of Salem. 2 Sisters: Kathleen Sarver and Linda McClellan of Salem and 1 brother: Harry Hattabaugh of Campbellsburg; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Eric Philpott, 1 sister, Mary Johnson and 1 brother Clayton Hattabaugh.
