A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.
He was 72 and had made a career of building quality homes in Greensboro for nearly 50 years.
Richard, the son of the late J. Spencer Love of Greensboro and the late Elizabeth Love Appleget of Greenwich, Conn., is survived by five brothers and two sisters: James S. Love, Jr., of Delray Beach, Fla., Robert Lee Love and wife, Margaretha of Greenwich, Conn., Julian Love and wife, Linda of Charlotte, Charles E. Love and wife, Mary Herbert of Charlotte, Martin E. Love and Cornelia Spencer Love, both of Chapel Hill, and Lela Love and husband, Peter Popov, of New York City. He is also survived by two aunts, Edna Love Adams of Concord, and Jean Love Albert of Amherst County, Va., and by 16 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
