Helene is the daughter of Francoise Langlois and Pierre Desportes. She was born in about 1620 and is believed to be the first child of European descent to be born New France. Helene, her parents, and Champlain were transported to London towards the end of 1629 and then back to France. Peace was restored in 1632 and Helene returned to Quebec in 1634.

Helene married (1) Guillaume Hebert on 1 October 1634, in Notre-Dame-de-Quebec. They are the parents of the following (verified with PRDH):
1) Joseph (1636-1661) md Marie-Charlotte Poitiers dit Buisson
2) Francoise (1638-1716) md Guillaume Fournier
3) Angelique (1639- )

She married (2) Noel Morin on 9 January 1640, in Notre-Dame-de-Quebec. They are the parents of the following (verified with PRDH):
1) Agnes (1641-1687) md (a) Nicolas Gaudry dit Bourbonniere and (b) Ignace Bonhomme
2) Germain (1642-1702)
3) Louise (1643-1713) md Charles Cloutier
4) Nicolas (1644-1667)
5) Jean-Baptiste (1645-1694) md Catherine DeCantigny dit DeBelleau
6) Marguerite (1646-1646)
7) Helene (1647-1661)
8) Marie (1649-1730)
9) Alphonse (1650-1711) md (a) Marie-Madeleine Normand and (b) Angelique DesTroisMaisons
10) Noël (1652-1666)
11) Charles (1654-1671)
12) Marie-Madeleine (1656-1720) md Gilles Rageot

From the 'we all come from somewhere' site on geocities: "Helene Des Portes was just nineteen when her first husband died, and left with three small children, she quickly entered into a marriage contract with Noël Morin, a 34 year-old cartwright from Brie, France; who had been recruited for New France by Robert Giffard, in 1636. The contract was signed on December 27 1639, and the ceremony took place on January 9 1640. In 1663, Noël Morin was granted a siegneury at Riviere De Sud (River of the South) at a place known as "Point with the Curdles"; and given the title of Sieur De St. Luc. Marie Helene Des Portes, Madame De St. Luc; died on June 24 1675, at St. Thomas, Montmagny Quebec; and Noël, five years later on January 15, 1680. The couple had twelve children, who left thousands of descendants, and the Morin name lives on in Quebec."

Unfortunately, the Drouin parish records for St Thomas in Montmagny don't start until 1679...

The following was provided by dcam #47689721:
Champlain's wife, Helene Boulle, is her godmother. He mentions that in his will. Assuming she was born in 1620, she was probably born sometime after 7 July 1620, the day Champlain and his wife arrived in Quebec City.
