Obituary Amos Verdon Finchum, 86 of Warrenton, VA passed away on Jan. 18, 2014 at the Fauquier Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1927 a son of the late Chester Earle and Nannie Katherine Gray Finchum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna S. Finchum. Amos served briefly in the U. S. Navy until the end of World War II. He worked as a police officer in Warrenton and then for Arlington County Police Department, from which he retired. He was a longtime active member of Warrenton United Methodist Church and was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop #175 in Warrenton for over 45 years. He is survived by his son and his wife- Michael and Allyson Finchum of Beaverdam, VA; seven grandchildren- Meghan Treadway, Alex Shoup, Caitlin Finchum, Ashleigh Shoup, Kristen Finchum, Chelsea Finchum and Corey Finchum. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 at 11:00 AM at Warrenton United Methodist Church, by Rev. John Chadsey. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton, VA.
