Lloyd Edward Adams, 67, of State College, died at Centre Community Hospital on Thursday, Sep. 2, 1982.

Born in Perryville, Missouri, a son of Joseph and Mattie Adams. On April 12, 1947, he married Aurelia Klueg.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific.

Mr. Adams, professor emeritus of the entomology extension at Penn State, retiring in 1975. He supervised extension entomology programs in 21 Northwestern Pennsylvania counties. He introduced numerous insect control chemicals for fruits, vegetables, and other food crops. He was faculty adviser to Penn State’s Newman Club for 14 years.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church of State College. He held the rank of fourth degree for the Knights of Columbus. He was director of the Seven Mountains Bowling League.

He is survived by his wife, a son: Lloyd III; five daughters: Kathleen Lopez, Teresa Flannagan, Loretta Adams, Rose Mary Adams, and Rosalie Rachav; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
