William Andrew "Bill" Funk was born May 6, 1934 to George Weston Funk and Catherine Anderson in Sterling, Utah.

He returned home early Monday, January 20, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah as the result of a stroke.

After serving in the Marine Corps, he married Judith L. Ludwig on September 14, 1963 in the Manti Temple and had just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

He provided for his family by working at Alliant Tech (Hercules).

He was an active member of the LDS Church, served as a home teacher, in the Cub and Boy Scout programs, and completed a service mission.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, teasing, and spending time with grandchildren, friends, and family.

He was greatly loved by all his family and friends and we will miss him dearly.

We know that Bill had a joyous reunion with his parents; his son, Andrew Scott "Andy" Funk; and his sister, Betty Nieves, who preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife, Judy; sister, Deanna Morandy; children, Karen (Blaine) Hawker, Marilee Mitchell, Mark (Leah) Funk, and Janean (Adam) Johnson; grandchildren, Melissa (Devon), Justin, Josh (Aubrey), Leland, Nicole, Zachary, Jonathan, Lucille, Edmund, Adam Junior, and Luke; great-grandson, Owen; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the Park Ward Chapel, 3665 South 6000 West, West Valley City. Viewings will be held in his honor on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
