"Benjamin Dillworth ...from Scotland to America at an early date. He was a farmer by occupation and settled in Westmoreland county, PA. He married Mary McMinn, who bore him five sons and three daughters. Of these sons George (James' father) was reared in Westmoreland County, and as early as 1796, came to Beaver county, where he purchased 400 acres of land, and remained until his death. His wife, Margaret (Kees) of Irish descent and who died in October 1839, aged 74, bore him eight children of whom James was the youngest. George Dillworth died in 1840, aged 75 years.
