Leonard Taicher, 63, Rapid City, died Thursday at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Thomas Gorman as celebrant. Burial will be Monday at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Parish Prayer services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established.

Taicher was born Feb. 12, 1920, at Maribel, Wis., to Otto and Lucille Taicher. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and married Maxine Bernier on July 18, 1942, at Cudahy, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946.

Taicher and his wife moved to Rapid City in 1945 while he was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He was president and owner of Central Service in Rapid City for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife; one son; one daughter; three grandsons, and three sisters and two brothers in Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry.
