Fred M. Hawkins, age 88, of Indianapolis, Ind. (formerly of Westmoreland), passed away December 4, 2007. He is survived by his brother, James Luther Hawkins of Gallatin; sister, Mildred Risk of Indianapolis; one nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lattice Hawkins; son, Harold W. Hawkins. Funeral services will be 6 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007, from Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Indianapolis, Ind. Visitation will be 11 a.m., until 3 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Woodard Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Westmoreland. Mr. Hawkins worked at General Motors Truck and Bus for over 30 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
