McALLEN — Ralph Arthur Talboys, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at his home. He was born April 21, 1932, and had lived in the Rio Grande Valley for 29 years.He became a self-employed certified public accountant after graduating from Michigan State University.
Talboys served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain during the Korean conflict and was a military comptroller.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Abernathy Talboys of McAllen; sons, D. Lee Talboys (Lisa) of Baltimore, and Greg Talboys (Lynette) of Haleiwa, Hawaii; daughter, Melanie Talboys of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; stepdaughter, Jenny Lynn Abernathy Gruehr (Andy) of Greenfield, Ind.; brother, Lee Talboys (Margaret) of Mason, Mich.; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 301 W. Pecan, in McAllen. The Rev. Jarrell Sharp will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.


Services were entrusted to the care of Kreidler Funeral Home Inc. in McAllen.
