Dianna Kay Headdy-Babbs, 75, of Ellettsville, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Monday, January 20, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Dianna was born in Spencer, at the Spencer Clinic on August 26, 1938 to Hubert Hugh and Dorothy Louise (Swafford) Headdy. She was married to Richard C. Babbs on November 29, 1959; they were married for forty-four years. She graduated from Stinesville High School. She worked with her sister, Hilda Rusnak, for their brother Don Headdy at Don Headdy Construction, and then worked at Ellettsville Elementary School. She enjoyed being a mother, sewing, and working outside in her garden, flower beds and yard. She attended Red Hill Community Church and Bethel Baptist Church.
Dianna is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Mobley (Ed) of Bloomington; three sisters, Hilda Rusnack and Mary Heckman, both of Ellettsville, and Shelby Anderson of Bloomington; four brothers, Don Headdy (Barbara) of Bardstown, Kentucky; and Major Headdy, Charles Headdy (Kathy), and Richard Headdy (Connie), all of Ellettsville; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three siblings, David Headdy, Donna Siscoe and Howard Headdy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 12 noon at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Rev. Maurice Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
