Mr. Pleuss was born Sept 25, 1885, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Frank and Sophia Schnell Pleuss. He was confirmed April 8, 1900, by the Rev. Pieper at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, of which he was a lifelong member. He married Mae Schuette Nov 24, 1915, at Rockwood.
Mr. Pleuss was a lifelong Manitowoc area resident and farmed until 1946. He was a school board member of School District No 1 for 12 years and custodian of St. John Lutheran Cemetery for 11 years. Mrs. Pleuss preceded him in death Oct 15 1918. He then married Dora Schmidt in 1946 at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in 1949.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Fred (Marcella) Krueger of Rt 4 Manitowoc, three grandchildren, (private), and five great grandchildren. A daughter Agnes a brother Albert and a sister Mrs. Mary Schramm preceded him in death.
Friends may call at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church from 6 to 9 o'clock this Friday evening and after 12 noon Saturday until the time of service. Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangement.
