Verneee was born December 3, 1933 in Burkburnett, Texas. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. She worked as a nutritionist for both Tucumcari General Hospital , Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari NM and at Premium General Hospital in Andrews Texas. She loved Jesus and her family and especially her grand children and her church family. Her hobbies were reading the Bible, sewing and camping and she especially loved kids, dogs and the outdoors.
Surviving her is her daughter Lois Sappington and husband Gregg of Tucumcari. Grandson Leif Gray and wife Angelica and great grand daughter Gabby of Tucumcari. Charles Thelbert Ballew Jr of Andrews TX, Paul W. Adair & wife Lynn, Terry Adair and Granddaughters Heather Smith, Companion Frank Perea and great Grand daughter Katrina of Tucumcari NM. Laurie Kennedy & husband Randal and great grandson Ronnie, one grand daughter Sharon Kirby of Houston TX, 8 great grandchildren and 9 other great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Addie Lee Smart and by 2 sisters and 5 brothers , V.T. Ballew and by her son Charles Ballew and daughter Laurel Ballew Adair by 1 grandson and 2 great grandson.
Services celebrating her life will be Friday afternoon January 24, 2014, at 2:30PM in the Dunn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Mitchell officiating. Pall bearers will be Mucio Apodaca, Richard Taylor, Dennis Smart, David Smith, C.J. Garrett, Randall Kennedy. Honorary will be Gregg Sappington, Frank Pera and Jesse Warren. Interment will follow in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
