Douglas Eugene Ayers Sr., 61, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2012. He was retired from the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Gethal Moles Ayers. Survivors include his wife, Debra Underwood Ayers , of Dublin; son and daughter-in- law, Douglas Eugene Jr. and Stephanie Ayers , of
Wytheville; daughter and son- in-law, Heather Ayers and Todd Gravley, of Kansas; stepson, Greg Underwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Ellamae Ayers , of Draper, and Pete and Barbara Ayers , of Wytheville; sisters, Glenna Gravely, of Wythe County, and JoAnna Boulet, of Florida; and six grandchildren, Mikel and Emily Frye, Joselyn Underwood, Marisa Ayers , Ethan Ayers , and Chase Underwood. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 30,2012, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.Funeral Services will begin at 7 p.m. with his brother, Pastor Sonny Ayers , officiating. A Full Military Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The Ayers family is in the care of Mullins
