BLACKHAWK WAR.
Following information courtesy of Chris Pigott.
David DYAS, of Dublin, arrived in New York, 5 May 1817, on the brig "Anne" (Capt SCOTT) from Dublin, with 28 other fellow-passenger, including Wm PIGOTT, also of Dublin.
David DYAS of your memorial was married to Frances, sister of this William PIGOTT arrival (he went to St Louis - see his memorial).
I believe there is little doubt that these two arrivals were the brothers-in-law.
Neither David's wife Frances (formerly PIGOTT,) nor their children, were recorded in the passenger list, as published in "Passengers from Ireland: Lists of Passengers at American Ports" by Donald M. SCHLEGEL, Baltimore, 1980.
