Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Florence Hallett, he was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Post 306, Taylor. During his youth, he was a well-known area baseball and football player.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Matticks of Scranton, and Mrs. Ruth Dunston of Old Forge; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St Ann's St., with services by the Rev. Nestor Kowal. Interment, Marcy Cemetery in Duryea." The Times-Tribune (Scranton, Pennsylvania), March 31, 1986
