Born March 18, 1925, in Monroe, he was the son of the late Lindsay and Gladys Horton. He was a World War II veteran who served with the Marines in the South Pacific. Survivors include a son, William C. Horton R. and his wife, Lorraine J. Horton, of Sumter, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
