Married Addie Schultz 22 Nov 1870. Educated at McGee College, Macon County, Missouri and St. Charles College, 1852-1860. Established the Allison Window Glass Co. in St. Louis, of which he was president & treasurer; also was vice-president & business manager of Eldredge Window Glass Co. and director of the American Car Co., manufacturer of street cars. Appointed chair of the Board of Election Commissioners by Gov. Folk, 1906.

He died at home, 5545 Pershing, St. Louis.
