1) William Wesley Addy, b in SC s/o Jacob Addy and Mary Rawls. He married Margaret Isabella Bernhard 20 Feb 1851 of Henry Co., d/o Jacob Bernard and Esther Lites. They had 12 children.

In 1862 Wesley enlisted in the Ninth Georgia Regiment, under Capt. Brooks, Col. Neely's command. He served in several very hard fought battles, as in those of Atlanta and Griswoldville, and in numerous skirmishes. He served throughthe war and then returned to Georgia.

After the war he successfully operated his father's plantation near Haralson and was widely known in his county and state. His homestead consisted of 225 acres of well-improved land, upon which he made a competent living. At one time he owned 740 acres, but he gradually sold off the greater part. He began with about $700.00 but was able to acquire considerable property, as well as the respect and good will of his fellow citizens.
