Mrs. Knute (Hildegard) Aakre, 74, of 3126 Maple Drive, died Sunday, March 4; in La Crosse Lutheran Hospital. She was born on Nov. 18, -1909, in the town of Hamburg, Vernon County, to Julius and Louise (Herman) Lenser. Mrs. Aakre was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and the Gifted Hands Shop at Doerflingers department store. She is survived by her husband and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, La Crosse. The Rev. Fritz Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crosse, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the services.
