ALIAPOULIOS, D.D.S., Theofelos A., known to most of his family and friends as "Steve", went home to be with the Lord after a short illness on July 31, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Swyers), of 59 years; his two children, Mark Aliapoulios and Cynthia Thompson and their spouses, Kimberlee Aliapoulios and Tim Thompson; as well as his nine grandchildren, Clara, Colin and Clark Aliapoulios, Hunter, Howard, and Harrison Thompson and Samuel, Rachel and Paul Beresford.

Born in Manchester, NH on May 3, 1927, he graduated from Central High School before attending the University of New Hampshire for two years. After two years with the US Air Force as a Medical Administrative Specialist, he returned to University of New Hampshire to earn his BS degree in Zoology. His DDS is from the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, where he met his wife Donna Swyers, a young dental hygiene student. He was a member of Delta Sigma Delta and the Phi Omega honorary fraternity and graduated 5th in his class.

Steve and Donna settled in West Palm Beach and opened a dental practice spanning some six decades. He was still seeing patients right up to his last day.

Over the past 59 years, Dr. Aliapoulios has been active in both the Florida Dental Society and its local chapter, serving as chairman of the Council on Dental Health for the State of Florida; aide-de-camp to Lou Atkins, President of the Florida Dental Association; and serving as part of the cleft palate study group, working with cleft palate patients. He was on the staffs of both the Good Samaritan Hospital and the St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach. Dr. "A", as he was often called, was a member of Rotary International and had perfect attendance at weekly meetings for almost sixty years.

His name is almost synonymous with Barbershop Harmony here in Palm Beach County where he was the Assistant Director of The Coastmen Chorus as well as the bass in several barbershop quartets over the years. In addition, he has been the Choir Director at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church since 1979, has sung in the professional choir of The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach and more recently been a member of The Choral Society of the Palm Beaches.

His broad smile, booming voice and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by loved ones around the world. He & his wife, Donna traveled extensively. Never slowed down and were always there anytime help was needed.

Uncle Steve was forever patient & generous. In my youth, I was the worst [& hysterical] dental patient ever! Yet Uncle Steve never lost his temper or yelled or indicated in anyway that I was horrible.

The world is much sadder without him.
