Longtime Meeker resident Lorraine Findlay, 83, died peacefully Wednesday, March 26 at the Walbridge Memorial Wing.
Lorraine Kincher was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Bayfield, Colo., the daughter of Alice (Loring) and Arthur Kincher. She was raised and attended school in Meeker and following her graduation, attended beauty school in Denver.
Lorraine operated her beauty shop in Meeker into the mid 1990s and at the time of her retirement was the second oldest beautician in Colorado still operating under her original license.
Lorraine was very proud of her family, displaying numerous pictures of them in her room at the Walbridge Wing.
Survivors include her two sons, Jack and his wife Roxanne of Duchesne, Utah; Donald and his wife Lupita of New Castle, Colo.; four grandchildren, Shannon, Callay, Chad and Luke and four great-grandchildren, Wes, Joey, Gabriel and Isabella; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Findlay; two brothers, Elry and Ed; and one sister, Edith, as well as her parents.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 31 at the Meeker United Methodist Church with Pastor Johnny Arrington officiating. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Cochran Memorial Chapel.
