STEPHEN "STEVE" WILLIAM LUMPE Stephen "Steve" William Lumpe, 47, passed away Monday, January 01, 2007 at the Wilson County Hospital, Neodesha, Kansas. Steve was born March 20, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri to William D. and Mary Jane (Keltner) Lumpe. He was raised and educated in Raytown, Missouri graduating from Raytown High School in 1977. He attended the Rolla School of Mines, Rolla, Missouri for two years before joining the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. He had worked for Cobalt Boats in Neodesha, Kansas beginning in 1995 until February of 2005. He then recently relocated in Cadillac, Michigan where he was Vice President of Engineering for the Four Winns Boat Company. Steve enjoyed gourmet cooking, fishing, boating, baseball and was an avid Kansas City Chief's fan. Steve is survived by his mother, Mary Salm and his step father, Andy of Lee's Summit, Missouri; one brother, John Lumpe of Blue Springs, Missouri; two step sisters, Cheryl Molt of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Kimberly Cantrell of Peculiar, Missouri; and two step brothers, Kirk Salm of Lee?s Summit, Missouri and Douglas Salm of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by the love of his life, Julie LaBarr of Neodesha and her children, Derek and Bailey LaBarr of Neodesha, Kansas and extended family as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Lumpe in 1961. Visitation hours for Steve will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, Neodesha, Kansas. Funeral services for Steve will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 04, 2007 at the Christ Church, 101 W. Elm, Neodesha, Kansas with Reverend Dave Cheshier officiating. Visitation hours for Steve on Friday, January 05, 2007 will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 71st and Blue Ridge cutoff, Raytown, Missouri from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 06, 2007 at Floral Hills Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the Wilson County Hospital Building Fund, Neodesha, Kansas. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
