MARTIN J. DELANEY

Martin J. Delaney, 78, of Floral City, Fla., died Monday at Citrus County Hospital, Inverness, Fla.

He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1984 as an insurance agent after 21 years with Haylor Freyer & Coon Inc., Syracuse. He was a member of Onondaga Lodge 802, F&AM, East Syracuse; a 32nd-degree member of the Scottish Rite Bodies; and a member of Tigris Shrine. He was an 18-year member of Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, was a Boy Scout leader in Syracuse and was a member of South Onondaga United Methodist Church. He served 10 years in the Army Signal Corps during World War II and Korea, attaining the rank of captain.

Survivors: His wife, the former Shirley M. Wilson; a daughter, Janet L. Fady of Petoskey, Mich.; a son, David M. of Marcellus; three grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in South Onondaga United Methodist Church. Burial, White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
