Annequinn Lafferty Allison, age 96 passed away January 28, 2014 in Heber Springs, Arkansas

She was born February 4, 1917 to Quinn E. and Anne Lucile Irwin Lafferty in Oakland, Tennessee.

She was a graduate of George Peabody College which is now Vanderbilt University with a Bachelors of Arts and a Masters of Library Science from Texas Woman's University. Annequinn was a retired librarian and teacher from Texas Christian University, the Amon Carter Museum of Western Art and Heber Springs High School.

Annequinn was a member of the Cadron Creek Order of Eastern Star and the Handsboro Eastern Star Chapter in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was the past president of the Heber Springs Study Club AFWC, past president of the Trustee Division of Arkansas Libraries, past Chairman of Cleburne County Library Trustees, Past Secretary of Texas Special Libraries and was selected for Who's Who of American Women.

Annequinn had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1967 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Heber Springs. She enjoyed traveling the world, spending her winters in Florida and most of all spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fanning Shaw Allison, one brother US Naval Lt. Robert Irwin Lafferty, daughter and son in law Yvonne Allison and Neal Kammers, her son FS (Tom) Allison and great grandson Benjamin Brecko.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Dollie Allison Glissmann, 8 grand children: Gwenne Cicero (Frank) of Newport, WA, Candy Johnson (Charlie) of Heber Springs, AR, Donna Kepf (Nick) of Indian Trail, NC, Jeanette Abbott (Tim) of Eads, TN, Patricia Kammers of Heber Springs, AR, Alison Brecko (Roger) of Arlington, VA, Thomas Allison (Denise) of Westminster, CO, Russell Allison (Paula) of Edgewater, CO, 12 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Family Funeral Service, 100 West Searcy Street, Heber Springs, AR and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February, 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in Family Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. J. R. DeBusk. Interment will be in the Heber Springs Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cleburne County Library.
