MARGARET CUNNINGHAM -- The Oldest Pioneer Gone -- Mrs. Margaret Cunningham departed this life on the 13th day of December, 1875, at her home in Worthington Township, Richland County, Ohio, aged 85 years, 9 months and 24 days.

The subject of the above obituary notices was at the time of her death the oldest pioneer in the county of Richland, having come to said county with her husband James Cunningham in the early spring time of 1809 and settled down after building a cabin on the ground where now stands the house of Mr. Daniel Snyder in Monroe Township, in said county, thence they removed to Mansfield at the instance of Mr. Jacob Neman one of the proprietors of the town of Mansfield, where she became the mother of Matilda Cunningham, the first white child born in Richland County. In the fall of 1810 they removed to Monroe Township in said county, and subsequently removed to Worthington Township to the time of her death, having lived in Richland County 66 years and 8 months.
