Mary Elizabeth "Liz" (Bowker) Zimmerman was born on March 26, 1922 in Dickson, Tennessee, the daughter of Richard Archie "Bud" Bowker (1857–1931) and his 2nd wife Georgia Ann (Grant) Bowker (1893–1969).
She was married about 1944 to Albert Duane Zimmerman (1923-2014), the son of Louis Albert and Euphenia Louise (Stover) Zimmerman.
Liz was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church, served in the US Marine Corps and worked for the State of Tennessee.
A resident of Old Hickory, she was 91 years old when she passed away on January 27, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, sisters Annie Bowker, Rebecca Bruce, Laura Bruce and Colleen Waggner, and brothers Richard Bowker, Howard Bowker and Billy Bowker. Survivors included a daughter and her husband, a sister-in-law and three nieces.
Burial with Military Honors was in Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum.
