Kingsport – Henry Clay "H.C." Vaughn, 80, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord late Wednesday evening, January 29, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

He was born in Edison, TN and had lived in Kingsport all his life. H.C. graduated from Blountville High School in 1951. He was a former employee of Howard Duckett Printing Co., Watson's Lithography Co. and was a former co-owner of Interstate Graphics, Inc. He was an active member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Chairman of Deacons and on several committees.

H.C. enjoyed reading and studying his Bible and was a loving Husband, Daddy, Papaw and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital 2nd floor CCU and the doctors and nurses of 3rd floor Wilcox Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Elsie Walters Vaughn, Sr.; brothers, Emory Vaughn and Arlie Eugene Vaughn.

Surviving are his loving wife of sixty three years, Joan B. Vaughn; children,Tim Vaughn and wife, Julie, Debbie Jo Worley, Jeff Vaughn and wife Jean, Robert Vaughn and Carmela "Boo" Vaughn; grandchildren, Courtney Foster and husband, Pastor Chris, Kelly Vaughn and wife, Alyssa, Dr. Arissa Cupp and husband, Dr. Aaron and Dustin Worley; great grandchildren, Kash Foster, Cruz Foster and Eden Foster and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 pm Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 3220 Bloomingdale Rd., Kingsport.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church with Pastor Phil Whittemore and Pastor Emeritus Joe W. Byrd officiating. Music will be provided by the Bloomingdale Baptist Church Choir, Anna and Jerry Taylor and Carol Hackler.

An interment service will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bloomingdale Baptist Church and Honorary Pallbearers will be his Senior Men's 66+ Sunday School Class. Family and friends are asked to meet at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., downtown.

The family requests memorial contributions, instead of flowers, may be made to Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 3220 Bloomingdale Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660.
