FRITTS, Wilford Lee Of Flint, age 88, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, March 4, 2013 at the

Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,

Pastor Nick McElrath officiating.

Burial in Flint Memorial Park.

Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of their choice.

Visitation 5-8pm Saturday 1-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Wilford was born in Bernie, Missouri on October 30 1924, the son of Edward and Velma Fritts, and was a resident of the Flint area since 1950. He married May "Helen" Stafford on May 10, 1958 in Flint and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2004. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post #8326. He was also a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church and UAW Local 599. Mr. Fritts was employed by General Motors Buick Motor Division for 38 years, retiring in 1988.

Surviving are three children, Mark and wife Tricia Fritts of Davison,

Edward of Flint and Terry Fritts of Oklahoma;

three step-children, Otis and wife Charlotte Fowler of Flint,

JR and wife Icy Priest of Hillsville, Virginia and

Brenda Lee of Flint;

14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;

brother, George and wife Joyce Fritts of Eureka, Missouri;

sisters, Eva McKinley of Dexter, Missouri, Deloris Maloney of Malden, Missouri, Betty and husband Bob Killian of Poplar Bluff, Missouri;

many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Wilma Hampton and Emma Niehaus.
