DEATH TAKES MRS. CRISMAN
Former Portage Resident Dies Early Today At Home In Valparaiso
Mrs. Hattie Crisman, 63, wife of Leonard Crisman, mother of Judge Walter M. Crisman, of Porter Cicuit Court, died at 10:14 am today at her home, 603 Jefferson Street. she had been ill six months.
The decedent was born in Chicago January 1, 1883 the daughter of Stephen Baring and Anna (Miller) Baring.
On March 20, 1904 she was married to Leonard H. Crisman, in Chicago. To this union were born three children, Judge Walter M. Crisman and Leonard Crisman, Valparaiso and Mrs. Anne Norman Pittsburgh, Pa.
Surviving beside the husband and three children are two sisters Clara Baring, Valparaiso and Mrs. Lewis E.Johnson, Chesterton and two grandchildren Patricia Crisman, Valpariaso and Allen Norman, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Settled On Farm
Mr. and Mrs. Crisman settled on a farm in Portage township, Porter County, 42 years ago, where they resided until Jaunary 1945, when they moved to 603 Jefferson St., Valparaiso.
She was a member of First Methodist Church, Valpariaos.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Bartholomew chapel, 102 Monroe Street, with the Rev. Harvey J Kreber officiating. Burial will be in McCool Cemetery.
