He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Reda Williams of Melrose; his son, Justin Williams (Paige) also of Melrose; His daughter Angela Overstreet (Wade) of Franklin Tennessee and four grandchildren McKenzie, Tyler, Carson, and Will. Brothers Jimmy Williams of Waldo, David Williams of Gainesville and Sister Emma Jean Perry of Melrose.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry Williams, mother Thelma Williams and brother Gerald Williams.
Donald Graduated from Melrose High school in 1963 and went on to receive his Bachelors and Master degrees from the University of Florida.
He spent his entire 30 year career educating children in the Putnam County area where he served in many positions. He retired as the principal of Melrose elementary; he loved children, and is probably most known for always remembering the names of all the children who attended his schools.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Eliam Baptist church in Melrose. Officiating will be his dear and close friend Brother Jerry Milton and the current pastor of Eliam Baptist Church, Brother Rick Ergle.
