BLOOMING PRAIRIE -- Virgil Dale Christianson, 62, of Medford, Minn., a former Lyle teacher, died April 19 at his home.
Born Oct. 26, 1932, in Freeborn County, he attended Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church and Austin High School. After receiving his teaching degree from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, he taught in South Dakota for many years. He had also taught in Lyle and at St. Isidore Schol at Litomysl in rural Owatonna, and worked at the Lavender Inn in Faribault before his retirement.
Survivors include a sister, Verlie (Mrs. Tilmen) Tollefson of Blooming Prairie. Two sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, with the Rev. Luther Mathsen officiating. Burial will be in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery in rural Blooming Prairie.
Friends may call from noon until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
