Elmer Long, 83, 202 North Washington Ave., died Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge.

Mr. Long had been in failing health for two years and a week ago Tuesday underwent a leg amputation. He made a good recovery from the operation and his death was sudden and unexpected.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sacquety Chapel in charge of Rev. Roy Cox.

Interment will be In Rose Hill cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1940, and one daughter.

He is survived by one son Russell of Clarion, three brothers, Charles Long of this city; Robert Long of Reading, Pa., Calvin Long, Palmyra, Pa., three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Seitinger, Sandwich, Ill., Mrs. Sally Berstler and Mrs. Mary Umbenhower of Hamburg, Pa., six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
