GREENVILLE — Frank P. Smith, Jr., 86, of Greenville, WV passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital following a long illness.

He was born at Union, WV, Dec. 8, 1927 a son of the late Frank Pendleton and Jessie Pearl Parker Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Joyce Smith.

Mr. Smith was a retired Monroe County School Bus driver, a farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Mt. Hedding United Methodist Church at Lillydale and the Farm Bureau.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Anna Marie Walthall Smith of Greenville; 3 children, Douglas Glenn Smith and wife, Gracie of Chrisney, Ind., Anita Wells and husband, Michael of Bluefield, Va., Wanda Smith and husband, Dwayne Hensley of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Masil and Travis Smith, Aaron and Adam Wells and Jessie Hensley; 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM., Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with the Rev. Herman Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hedding Cemetery at Lillydale, WV.

Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2013.

Groves Funeral Home in Union is in charge of arrangements.
