OBITUARY-
Ivan N. Bartholomew, age 71, of Austin, Minn., died Friday night, Nov. 18, 2005 at his home with his family.
Ivan was born on Feb. 20, 1934 in Mankato, Minn. to Charles and Dorothy (Rector) Bartholomew. He married LaRena Lomholt on May 12, 1955 in Algona, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife LaRena of Austin; daughters, Kimberly (Robert Orr) Horgeshimer, of Austin, Karlene (Michael) Langan, of Austin; son, Jeremy (Tanya) Bartholomew, of Austin; grandchildren, Amanda, Karissa, Scott, Shannon, Dakota, Jeremy Jr., Monte, Jack and BeckyAnn; great-grandson, Isaac; sisters, Florence (Robert) Blowers, of Austin and Shirley Hemann, of Meyer, Iowa; brothers, Charles (Marlys) Bartholomew, of Austin, and Thomas Bartholomew, of Austin; special friend, Robert Kelley, of Austin, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Jack; sister, Linda, and some aunts.
Ivan was a lifelong Austin resident. He worked at Hormel Foods more than 24 years and retired from the National Guard in 1994. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, camping near Rapidan and listening to Blue Grass music. Ivan loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.
