Betty was born on March 24, 1920 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Oliver Emerson and Lona Colleen (Brown) Rogers.
Betty was a graduate of Mt. Hope, KS the class of 1938.
On April 20, 1939 in Andover, KS she married Neal Austin. Betty and Neil were married for 57 years until his death in 1996.
Betty and Neal farmed and ranched around the Eureka and Severy area for many years, they then retired to the Independence area. After Neal's death, she then moved to Fredonia.
Betty worked alongside Neil on the farms and ranch while raising their children.
They also owned and operated restaurants in the Severy area.
Betty enjoyed working in their garden and making all of their meals from items raised on their farm.
She enjoyed taking cattle to the American Royal Shows with her husband and attending rodeos.
She enjoyed watching NASCAR and watching the Gaither's on the gospel channel.
She was known for always having cinnamon rolls and tapioca pudding ready for treats for her kids.
Betty enjoyed going to the Stockyards on sale day and having lunch there. Most of all, Betty enjoyed being with her family.
