A vigil for John Able, 87, is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Westley Funeral Home in San Jacinto. Graveside services will follow in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. He died Thursday at Meadowbrook Convalescent Hospital in Hemet. The cause of death is pending a doctor's report.
Mr. Able, who was born in St. Louis, lived in Hemet for 30 years. He worked as a cabinet maker for a Beaumont company for 51 years.
He is survived by a son, Nick of La Mirada; daughters Margaret Wienke of Temecula, Vickie Johnson of Irvine, Anna Ericson of Post Falls, Idaho, and Irene Neighbors of Cave Creek, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
