WESTMONT — NEWHOUSE – Thomas R., 67, Westmont, died Feb. 1, 2014, at home. Born Sept. 10, 1946, in Johnstown, son of the late Raymond A. and Helen R. (McGough) Newhouse. Preceded in death by sister, Vernetta (Newhouse) Ackerman. Survived by wife of 45 years, former Irene B. Handzus, Westmont; daughter, Heather (Newhouse) Kennison, Newport News, Va.; son, Raymond M., married to former Tasha Rozzelle, Williamsburg, Va.; grandson, Connor Kennison, Newport News, Va.; grandson, Thomas J. Newhouse, Williamsburg, Va.; and sisters, Rita Tourney, Johnstown; Joan Keating-Sikon, Phoenix, Ariz.; Janet Brode, Ravenna, Ohio; and Barbara Knireman, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Thomas was a project manager for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 354. A U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. He also was a member of the American Legion and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A requiem Mass will be celebrated at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Westmont, at date to be determined, followed by interment at Grandview Cemetery.
