Mr. Abbott was the son of Jerre Randal and Betsy (Morris) Abbott, and the husband of Sandra Fowler Abbott, all of Boiling Springs.
An avid University of South Carolina fan, as well as a fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, he was was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Abbott is survived by two sons: Joshua Wayne Abbott of Inman, and Brandon Richard Abbott of Boiling Springs; two brothers: James Eugene Abbott of Spartanburg, and Darrell Wayne Abbott of Woodruff; one sister: Karrie Ann Russ of Spartanburg, and two grandchildren: Patience Nicole Abbott and Joshua Caden Abbott.
Graveside services were held 3:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2014 at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Bob Buhl officiating.
Visitation was held at the graveside from 2:00-3:00 PM, prior to the service.
