JAMES MAGEE, a retired locomotive engineer, died Monday. He was 72 and lived in Southwest Philadelphia.
Magee retired from Conrail in 1982 after working 42 years as a locomotive engineer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Korea. During the Korean War, while serving with the 724th Railroad Battalion, he received the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, the former Alberta Baxter; two daughters, Jean Anne Pfitzenmeyer and Gail Magee; a son, James Magee; two sisters, Mildred Church and Anna Cisne, and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Marvil Funeral Home, 1110 Main St., where friends may call between 7 and 9 tomorrow night.
Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Lansdowne Avenue and School Lane, Drexel Hill.
