Steven W. Rice, age 66, of Minooka, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born November 22, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Manhattan, Illinois. Steve was a graduate of Lincoln-Way High School, Class of 1965 and Joliet Junior College.
Steven was a Vietnam veteran, serving four years in the United States Navy. He retired after 30 years from ElectroMotive and was recently employed at Sam's Club with the maintenance department.
Survived by his two daughters, Jodine (Bill) Green of Arizona and Amy of Minooka; his son, Thomas; his grandson, Brock Green of Arizona; his sisters, Kathy (Dan) Brookman and Donna (Jim) Sarama; newly found sister and brother, Susan Hoff and Ben Liepe; his in-laws; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; parents, Loren and Ruth Moseley; brother, Garry; and sister, Terry.
Funeral services Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.
Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy.
