Elizabeth R. Abbass, 94, of New Hartford died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Faxton St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford. She was born on August 17, 1919 in Mass, a daughter of the late Raymond and Annie (Chamoun) Anton. She was preceded in death by her husband Fay J Abbass Sr. and sister in-law Janet Abbass both of New Hartford. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Jean, Leena and her brother Joe. Elizabeth was a member of St John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford and St Louis Gonzaga Church in Utica. Elizabeth lived a long life caring for her children, friends and neighbors. She loved to visit with everyone and especially loved animals and her flowers. She was a strong woman with a beautiful smile who gave strength to others who needed her strength and encouraging words. She leaves behind 7 living children, many beloved grandchildren, also her daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws.
