Leo Patrick Marquette, 79, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 while under the compassionate care of the staff at St. John Specialty Care. Leo was born August 26, 1932 in Aliquippa, son of the late Harry and Agnes (Donovan) Marquette. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a tank commander. Leo worked at Crucible Steel in Midland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline 'Jackie' (Hays) Marquette, on March 22, 2012; one brother, Harry Marquette, and three sisters, Betty Stenger, Katie Hoenig and Margie Carroll.

Leo is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Chief Master Sgt. Patrick and Shelli Marquette, McGuire AFB, NJ; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Michael Collins, New Sewickley Township; four grandchildren, Melanie and her companion Luke Hollen; Michael, Aidan and Ethan; Nickie Walden and her husband James, who he loved like a daughter, Greenville, PA; a brother, Robert Marquette, New Brighton; a sister, Joann Merrifield, Monaca, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday, July 27, 2012, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A service will be held at 6 p.m., immediately following the visitation, with military honors by members of the Beaver County Special Unit.
