Alton Raymond Ritchie, age 69, of New Caney, TX, went to be with his Lord Monday, February 3, 2014. He was born August 31, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Walter and Hazel Ritchie. Alton graduated from Smiley High School in 1962, and joined the Houston Fire Department at the age of 23. He served the department with honor during a 28 year career before retiring as a Chauffeur.
Alton is preceded in death by his father Walter Ritchie.
Alton is survived by his loving children; sons Mark Ritchie and wife Victoria, Raymond Ritchie and wife Sheri, Stephen Ritchie and wife Shawna, David Ritchie and wife Kathy, Chaz Ritchie, Chason Ritchie, Amanda Garland and husband Joshua; sisters, Marie Matthews; Bobbie Preuninger and husband Don; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 7, 2014 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Porter. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, TX.
