Frank was the adopted son of William & Ida Huff Cheatham. He married Emma Belle Sanders, the daughter of John Walter & Martha Jane Simmons Sanders, on October 15, 1900, in Nashville.

They were the parents of William Beryl, Mary Elizabeth, Frank Leo and John Oliver Cheatham. The couple's marriage ended in divorce. Mr. Cheatham earned his living by working, as a printer, in a paper products factory. He passed away from the effects of a myocardial infarction, complicated by a history of arteriosclerotic heart disease.

•DC lists the middle name as Hauser. He clearly signed his name as "Frank Hoggett Cheatham" on his WWI Draft registration form. The year of birth is also from the same document. The DC listed the year of birth as 1873.
•There is a possibility that Frank may have been the son of William H. Cheatham's sister, Martha Jane Cheatham Wade. Martha married her husband, Edward, in 1873 and passed away in 1876. After Martha's death, Mr. Wade left Tennessee for Illinois, married and started a new family.
