Alma Esther Stallings, 92, of Nampa, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at a Nampa care facility. Alma was born on August 23, 1921 in Greenup, Illinois to Jerry and Stella Baughman Shobe. She was raised and educated in Illinois. She married Newman Stallings on March 8, 1941 in Missouri. They moved to Colorado for a short time and to Grangeville, Idaho where he worked in Construction. In order to give their five children, Connie, Bonnie, Lynn, Edsel and Jeffrey, a Christian Education, the family moved to Nampa to make their home.

Alma was a homemaker, mother and grandmother her entire married life. Her families memories are of her homemade bread and her peach pies. She was very involved with P.T.A. in the children's schools and of her being a loving, involved grandmother. She was also a very active member of the College Church of the Nazarene where she was a greeter, Sunday school teacher and helped with funeral dinners. She was a very giving and helpful person and even in her final sickness of dementia these qualities came forward.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Willie) Weddle of Nampa, Bonnie (Gaylan) Rohnert of Nampa, Lynn (Shirley) Stallings of Edmonds, WA, John Edsel (Cricket) Stallings of Meridian and Jeffrey Stallings of Tucson, AZ; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman in 1995, her parents and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at the College Church of the Nazarene, Nampa. A burial will precede the services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. A viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
