Mr. Wallace is survived by two sons, Wallace C. Ackman Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Patterson and Jesse K. Ackman and his wife, Hope, of Lafayette; one daughter, Debbie L. Vernon and her husband, Wendell, of Independence; seven brothers, Rufus, Jerry, Daniel, Ulysse, Dalton, Ben, and Donald; six sisters, Lee Done, Pam, Laura, Dianne, Barbara, and Rita; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Angelo Ackman; his parents, Dalton and Bridgett Ackman; a son, Herbert J. Ackman; four brothers, Joseph, David, Allen, and Russell; and two sisters, Ozelia and Jenny.
The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 9am until time of services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson with a rosary being prayed at 10am. .
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 11th at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson with Father Angelo Cremaldi officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
